Most of your kills in this game happens as present-Ellie protects an injured Joel from attackers as she makes her way back to him to give him the emergency medical treatment he needs. The graphics and controls are basically the same, minus the killings. If you’re playing this, then most likely you’ve finished the main game. It’s kinda cool seeing this side of Ellie because she didn’t have a lot of opportunities to be a kid when she and Joel were travelling and trying to survive. In the flashback, Ellie remembers the time she and her bestfriend Riley sneak out to explore a nearby mall where they mess around and just be teenagers. Unlike the main game, you don’t have many weapons here, and you don’t get to kill a lot of clickers. You alternate between present Ellie and past Ellie.

The game is mostly a flashback, the current time being just right after the University part of the game where Joel gets hurt. The story takes place just two weeks before Ellie and Joel cross paths, and unlike in the main game where you mostly play as Joel, in this game, you are Ellie.

If you bought the Game of the Year edition of the game, you get this content free otherwise, you have to buy it from the PlayStation Store for $77 HKD. Left Behind is the Downloadable Content for the main game: The Last of Us. Thanks to my friend, I was able to purchase and download Left Behind.
